the outer material will sometimes crack if it cools too fast. The inner weld is what holds the lug onto the barrel. But that is just the excess weld material and doesn't effect the actual weld or it's strength. I really wouldn't worry about it. The Raptors have very little recoil and should this get worse, which I doubt, you have a full warranty on the barrel.
