and for heavier .458" bullets only I didn't want to limit myself to 300+ gr. projectiles. Not really suited to a pistol platform either, even worse. Plus the brass is more expensive.
It looked like a good platform to tinker with. I actually like the 350 Legend as it seems more useful. It may be just long enough that it will work through lever gun applications where the .357 Maximum won't. I don't know. Ruger, Mossberg, and Savage all have economy good, service type, bolt guns in it. Certainly no benefits I clearly see over the delightful .35 Remington as to performance. The straight wall cartridge hunting rules may just push it past the novelty stage. It's not hard to load and everyone needs a little schooling about different crimps anyway.
